How to Play
The objective
Fill every row, column, and 3×3 box with the numbers 1–9. No number repeats in any row, column, or 3×3 box. That's the whole rule.
Start with the most-filled rows and boxes
Easy puzzles give you 38 starting clues, so several rows, columns, or boxes are almost done already. Find one that's missing just one or two numbers — those are free wins.
Scan, then commit
Pick a number (say, 7) and scan every row, column, and box. Anywhere a 7 is forced into one specific cell, write it in. Easy puzzles are designed so this scan-only approach gets you through.
When you get stuck
- •Take a five-minute break — fresh eyes spot what tired eyes miss
- •Pencil in candidates lightly so you can erase
- •If you've made a mistake, the contradiction shows up two or three moves later — work backwards
- •Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so if two numbers seem to fit, one of them is wrong
Make it screen-free
- •Print the puzzle and slip it into your bag for waiting rooms, the cafe, the plane
- •The answer key is on the back of every page — flip when you're done
- •Bring a pencil, not a pen; nobody finishes their first sudoku without an erase or two
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these sudoku puzzles really free?
Yes. Every puzzle is free to download, print, and use for personal enjoyment, classroom use, or with friends and family. No signup, no email, no account. We just ask you not resell them or strip the watermark.
How hard are these easy sudoku puzzles?
Each puzzle gives you 38 starting numbers (called clues), which is on the gentler end of 'easy.' You can solve them with scanning alone — no advanced techniques, no guessing, no pencil marks required. They're a good fit for beginners, kids, and anyone who wants a relaxing puzzle rather than a brain-melting one.
Is each puzzle different?
Yes. Each of the 30 puzzles is a unique grid generated specifically for this collection. Every puzzle also has exactly one valid solution — you'll never hit a dead end where two numbers both seem to fit.
Can I print these on A4 paper?
The PDFs are sized for US Letter (8.5×11 inches), but most printers can scale to A4 automatically — check the 'fit to page' option in your print dialog. The puzzle will print at about 97% of its original size on A4, which is still plenty large for solving.
Where are the answers?
Each PDF is two pages: page 1 is the puzzle, page 2 is the answer key. If you download the bundle PDF (all 30 puzzles at once), all puzzles come first, followed by all 30 solutions in the same order.
Are these sudoku puzzles good for kids?
Easy sudoku is great for kids around 8 and up who already recognize numbers 1–9 and understand 'find the missing number' puzzles. Younger kids may need help with the 3×3 box rule. They're a screen-free win for car trips, restaurants, and homework breaks.
Can I share these puzzles with my classroom or club?
Yes, please do. You can print as many copies as you need for students, members, or family. The only rule is don't resell them or remove the watermark.
Will you add medium and hard puzzles?
Yes — medium and hard sudoku collections are coming next. The generator that made these can produce any difficulty on demand, so it's just a question of which to publish first. If you want a specific difficulty, drop us a note.
