About Our Free Journal Templates
Keeping a journal by hand is one of the simplest ways to step away from your screen. Our free printable templates are designed to be clean, black-and-white, and print-friendly on any home printer — so you spend less on ink and more time actually writing.
Why Track by Hand?
There's something grounding about putting pen to paper. Writing down the books you've read, the habits you're building, or the things you're grateful for engages your memory and attention in a way that tapping an app never quite does. A printed page has a beginning and an end — you can finish it, hold it, and look back on it.
Reading Logs to Start
Our first collection is a set of free printable reading logs — a simple layout for logging title, author, and rating; a kids version with big rows and a minutes-read column; and a one-page-per-year reading journal with space for genre and notes. Print one, tuck it into a book, and fill it in as you go.
How to Use Them
- Print on any paper: Standard printer paper works great. For a log you'll keep all year, print on thicker cardstock so it holds up.
- Black-and-white friendly: Every template is designed to print cleanly in black ink — no color cartridge needed, and it photocopies well for classrooms.
- No sign-up: Click, download the PDF, and print. We never gate downloads behind an email.
